t case prob please help!

is it ok to engage my truck into 4wd, manually, with the swift motor off if i need to use it? will this even engage it into 4wd

if you try putting 12 volts to the brown wire going into the t-case and taking it for a ride. Also to tell what t-case you got, look on the tag on the case. It is held on there with one of the bolts that holds the two halves together.
