help with hatch doorlock

In my 96 explorer the rear hatch doorlock is stripped out or something, but everytime the autodoor locks engage it makes a awefully loud noise, i was wondering if anybody has expierenced this, or knows how to fix it, or even disconect it so it wont be so loud thanks

sounds to me like the motor went south.
It is easy to cover all the options.
Replace, disconest what have you.
Pop the trim panel off, peal back the vapor barrier, pop the linkage, and drill out the rivits.

I took all the interior trim off and bought an actuator and dropped it at the body shop. $20. later new actuator is in place and hatch works fine. The fact that the actuator is rivited in place put me off since I dont have a big rivit gun.

Mine just recently started doing the same thing. Each time i turned off my alarm it would make that sound. I just pulled the cover off and disconnected it and use the key now. ill get it fixed eventually.

How much was the actuator?

Well worth the $20.00 then.
The big rivit guns are quite costly

Thanks everybody, Problem solved
