    I didn't notice any difference in my 91 when I put it in 80,000 miles ago. But maybe it has some long-term un-noticable difference.

    My first thought is that it is your wheel bearing.

    Erratic Engine idle

    Is the check engine light on??? If so get the error codes. Second I would check for vaccuum(sp) leaks. Your's is about 9 years newer than mine, but every once in a while two of my vaccum lines will pop off and the X idle is erratic.
