I agree, take off the clearcoat w sandpaper, clean it, prime it, paint & clearcoat it.
I painted mine, buts its the teardrop design rims its been almost a year now and so far its holding up but make sure buy the rattlecan paint for wheels.

I have 95 4.0 XLT 4x4 AT, brought it to a shop since the OD light flashes. Code came up 647 - which thanks to this forum, it means 3rd gear incorrect ratio. Their estimate was $3900.00 to rebuilt! so i said no thanks.

Go get yourself a jackstand for $20.00 since it will take maybe 4 to 6 hrs including prep work to paint a pair of rims.

just do a twist and pull..... i replaced my fuel pump back in october, i had a full tank when it went out, so my buddy and I have dump the 20 gal fuel to a a few fuel gas cans...

that same thing happend to me 3 weeks ago. I replaced water pump, hoses, thermostat and bought 2 gals of 50/50 coolant and water wetter.
make sure to borrow a fan belt pulley remover tool from the parts store, it will make it very easy to do the job.

You can also use the oil filter removal tool made of rubber traps to hold the pulley, make sure to get the largest one.....

He can try to spread some petrolium jelly of baby oil inside the hose and of the end of the radiator hose to slip in easily....
I didn't have problems when i replaced my waterp pump & radiator hoses, so good luck....

Can you explain further as in he can get the new one on? is it the clamp or the hose itself. I recenlty replace my water pump and since I have the "spring-style" clamp, it was a pain to get it in place but i had no trouble getting the hose in the water pump.

I just changed my water pump last week and Checker has the tool on as a loaner, and it didnt cost me a cent, it came with the right size wrench, I just supplied a breaker bar.

I notice that you took out the "skirts" on your rig. Did you put something inside those holes like Expand-A-Foam and curious also to how many holes were there. Where did you get those plugs, any specific size on them?

For those who have lifted rigs, does anyone retrofitted a grab bars or handle bars from other vehicles. I have a 95 XLT except for the TT & shackles and 31" tires, its mostly stock.
I want to install one for an easy getting in and out of the truck for my son. Maybe bolted on the A pillars...
