    Recommended Connecting rod bolts

Hi Guys and Gals: I have OHV 4.liter V6 I'm putting back together. The rod bearings did the smoke test due to the cam syncronizer gear stripping which drives the oil pump. Are there connecting rod bolts for the 4.0 liter? 1) ARP does not recommend rod bolts of any they make. 2) The...

I ended up using the newer sensor and assembly on my 95 limited with a 98 engine with an 8 bolt flywheel. The Haynes manual shows the pinouts on both the old connector and the newer piece. I soldered the new connector from Rockauto on the harness. The older one has a shorter reach into the...

Brandon96 If I might suggest, weigh your pistons and rods on a grams scale. Take the lightest one and make the others weight the same. I got mine to within +8 grams overall and 1 gram on the rods. The engine will run quieter and smoother with no issues when you push the RPM's

Yeah he's got this programable diagnosic tool from Snap-on that scans the engine. It told me I had a intermittant cam sensor connection, a bad DPFE (which I replaced), checked the engine under load then set the idle at 600 rpm after setting the timing at 20 degrees. All automatically. The check...
