can those dust excluder seals that go on the outer end of the CV axle be re-used or do you replace them, the dealership here doesnthave them, so it may take a bit to get some

i did all the tests as per stickies also, eventually had to changed out the gaskets, i was getting some funny rpms also when it was cold, of course this didnt happen when it was warm up here, so had to take it in to Ford dealer

changing out the cv axles, and the hubs on my 1998 explorer 4wd, do you guys that have done this buy new seals or reuse the old ones? they are about $74 for two from ford, and i have to order them in.

thanks for this, im also doing cv's and pulling the front diff to reseal. no breaker bars for me having a MAC 1/2 impact and lotsa sockets left over from my Heavy Duty mechanic days helps. still have to get my rotor off first, or pull the entire assembly and get the rotor off later.

well i guess it sounds like your are replacing cv shafts, it is only a few more bolts to remove and check the front diff out. this is also a good time to check front wheel bearings, i think i priced them out and the whole hub assembly is what you buy, (double check that) i couldnt begin to...

I have found more problems on howling with the gearset, CV's tend to knock a bit more around corners when acclerating

well got the seats so far, big thing is the passenger seat from the sport trac is electrical adjustments versus the explorer being manual adjustments

im picking up a pair of leather 02 sportrac seats for $20, they are leather, with heating, and am going to swap em into my 98 xlt explorer, difference is the sport trac are heated. is there a seperate harness for heat power, i can still take the wiring out of the wrecked sport trac
