there is a spring clip that holds the cylinder to the door,it's prob laying inside the door at the bottom.you'll need to pull the panel to get it back on.
i just picked up a winch plate for a tj from a friend and was just going to cut/grind on it to fit in between the frame rails and weld it in place, bolting would be nice but welding it in seems like alot less work :D
clean sport you picked up there
sounds like it was well taken care of.now all you need is a decent snow to go out and have some fun with it :D
to remove it you will have to remove the rod which can be a PITA :banghead:
the end of the rod is a "ball" which locks into a metal clip with teeth all the way around.once the rod is out the MC just twists to remove, sounds easier than it is.
EDIT:now i'm l8 on the draw to gmanpaint...
if you know you had air in the MC and didn't remove it to bleed it check this video out.might be your problem

just remember that a heavy duty clutch comes with a heavy pedal ;)
there are 2 relays in the #2 relay box behind the passenger headlight,1 is for high speed and 1 is for low speed.as said above it could also be the blower motor resistor but usually you get high fan but not low (first 3 positions) if the resistor is bad.
i don't have any diagrams but you...

didn't notice b4 but the ad say's local pickup only
you should be able to find some cheaper locally though, check your local junkyards for a sport.i just gave a pair away about 3 months ago :banghead:
what size tires are you planning on running ?
cheap = body lift
shackles and or add a leafs and or 4 door leaf packs = cheapest way to lift the rear
TT up front = cheapest way to lift the front
unless you want to buy a suspension lift or SAS the front the SOA will yield to much lift...
you could place a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to get some heat till you can get to the thermostat.only cover about 3/4 of the radiator, not the whole thing, you want some air getting through it.
1st problem sounds like the iac (idle air control) valve ,search for threads on cleaning or replacing it.
2nd sounds like a thermostat, could be sticking or wrong temp range for the winter.
i'm not to familiar with the sohc though so maybe someone else will chime in that knows the sohc better.
nice explorer and nice ar's,especially for residing in cali.
i know this is an explorer forum but you can't beat gun ****,a gratuitous pic of a few of mine :D
