    How Many Miles are on Your Explorer?

    285,900. 1992 2wd, 2 door. no major engine or tranny work, but auto trans been slipping going into 3rd for last 100,000 miles. engine uses very little oil.

    I am trying to fix the AC in my 1992 explorer. It had been converted from R12 to 134. Can I use a compressor from a 1999 explorer? what model years is the AC compressor compatible with my '92? Thanks for your help

    Ok thasnks for the explanation... I guess I will use either the ester or PAG 46. Is the variable orifice tube worth the extra money? they are about $30 compared to $2 for the regular.
