This is a common problem that has been going on for some time. Dealers are no help. You would think Ford would have a fix by now. Had a axle bearing go out a 15K miles. Not an isolated case either. Dealer said he has seen it before. Ford quality is slipping.

The problem has been fixed and without another trip to the dealer. I have turned the remote start climate control off and just leave the regular system in "auto". Everthing seems to be working properly including the heated seats and steering wheel.

There is no heat to send with a cold engine that has set overnight in single digit temperatures. Auto run and auto remote start fan speeds should mirror each other.

I can see why the new gen Ford Explorer got such a bad rating in CR. Ford can call it whatever they want, it still shouldn't happen. Shutter to think what is going to crop up as the vehicle gets some age on it. Once it goes out of warranty the cost of owership will increase dramatically.

Lighting turned itself back on again last night. Stayed off five days and for the second time in a row it is now purple instead of blue. The dealer reprogramed the computer when they replaced the hvac module. Can't help but wonder if the color change is due to the reprogram.

You stand a better chance of them finding something than I did. Mine is sporatic and unpredictable. If yours can be dupicated it might at least get them looking for the cause.

Got mine back from the dealer. Lighting stayed off until the second drive cycle then the light was back on, only this time it was purple instead of blue. They only tested to see if it worked and it did. I don't think they would know what to do even if they saw it happen.

My 2013 is at the dealer for a similar problem. The lights don't change colors, they turn on after being tuned off. Don't remember having the problem until after the first update. I'll post if they find something.
