I have the same problem on my 96 5.0. The problem is with the plastic gears somewhere inside the speedo. I found a local guy here in San Antonio that can repair it. The problem is i'll have to remove it and take it to him. Will post results if and when it can be repaired.

I'm about to ditch the rear cats and install a couple of moroso spiral flow mufflers w\chrome Z28 tips exiting in front of the passenger side rear wheel. You should try this instead of the glasspacks.

Don't buy it. I bought one about three months ago, the MAF meter adapter does not fit. Don't waste your money on it. I found a better setup on a Ford Ranger site. This site has an adapter that fits the Explorer MAF it will work with 8 or 6 cylinder http://www.ssd4u.com/streetsmart_015.htm.

How did you get the seafoam into the throttle body? Did you the tube that connects to the oil filler.

My trip OD. & mileage OD. stopped working at 168000. The speedo still works, has this happened to any of you and what did you do to fix the problem.
