there was an old TSB related to this i believe, early last year ford dealer performed some repairs on mine like modifying the exhaust tip to point downward and some resealing stuff (foamlike), i could say the smells was reduce but not completely gone. hope they found new solution to this issue

I do not have garage and access to any electric plug. I want to trickle charge my battery but wondering if its ok to remove it from the vehicle for let say over night. Is there any precaution or problem should i expect when leaving the explorer without battery for long period of time? Thank you

@billyfromhill where did you go to change the setting of car feedback, for example i want to add horn when i unlock the car using remote. i have the default press twice lock button car will horn once if all the doors are properly close if one is not close it will chirp twice.

@Rainlord i purchased new chip from local locksmith and replaced the chip on the flip key, programmed and walaaa no annoying message :)

thats what i though when i first saw it. maybe because its for focus/fiesta. is the blade of the 4 button flip key fit on the 4+1 with remote start?

i got the key and able to programmed it, ignition and remote are working fine, but every time i start the car it says "could not program key" so, i've checked the PATS counter and the new key was added. its a bit annoying. I left another keyfob inside the car just in case. @Rainlord have you...

cant find 4 buttons with remote start on ebay that can deliver on my current location, they all 5 buttons.

im doing it on the filter not on drain plug. i used a powerful magnet so they can stick strong on the bottom.

@ProjectSHO89 this is what i'm looking for, i bought used 2012 XLT comes only with 2 IKT fob with 3 buttons but on the system its says it has 5 admin keys. can you advise detailed instructions on how to reset and reprogram the existing IKT. i dont want to mess around as it out of warranty...
