Sorry for the late reply. I changed my white fog bulbs for some Osram Fog Breaker bulbs (2600K Amber) I had to order them on Ebay. Very good light output and the color is perfect. These bulbs are considered among the "Best" over in Europe.
get some Phillips 9011 HIR (made in Germany.)
These are almost like the stock 9005's, but they have a lot more lumens, which provide a wider beam of light. The 9011's need to be slightly modified (just a few clips of the tabs) the output is amazing and there is no difference in wattage (65) and...
They wouldn't be rated "Poor" if ford used Phillips 9011 HIR (Made in Germany) as the Halogen headlight bulbs. More Lumens, same wattage, same heat output.
It's just a cover to make the engine bay look more "Tidy" it doesn't hurt anything, doesn't ruin your wiring harness. it's merely a cosmetic item. it's not going to hurt the engine.
Most vehicles made now have the same style engine covers.
It was your "Auto" 4x4 turning on. Normally, it's in 2wd, but if the vehicle senses some slippage of the tires, (even when going around corners, or hard acceleration), auto 4x4 will engage.
Now, if your 4x4 "High" icon lit up, that's another story.
