the models designed for 01 and up vehicles, how hard is it to adapt them to a 1996 eddie bauer???

Anyone know how to replace a radio bezel cigarette sockett? I got a spare bezel at a junkyard, and the cigarette sockett is all rusted. Dont want to bother trying to use it. Problem is its all metal, i dont see how to remove it. Any help?? Thanks, Sean

Ok, just got my dad's old eddie bauer, excellent condition and i should be using it for about 2 years. It has the JBL audio system, and crutchfield says that if i were to instlal a new headunit, i would need to bypass the stock amp. I read this as the stock headunit probably isnt self...
