I have had great luck with Motorcraft oil from Walmart. Great price and you know it is what Ford recommends. My 02 is leaking from the rear main as well, but about one quart every 5000 miles.

I agree with kydirtscooter, I would change all of the fluids in it: Oil, rear differential, transmission fluid and filter, and transfer case and front differential if applicable. I would also flush the power steering fluid and check the coolant and see if it needs flushing.

That is strange. I know the radio and power windows will work until you open the door like @swshawaii said, but the door ajar light should have turned off when the key is turned and the doors are closed. The car responding to you opening the door and the radio turning off leads me to think that...
