    19E02 - Powertrain Control Module Reprogramming ???

This is recommended by ETIS, so is this good juju or simply a Ralph Nader do-gooder reprogram that will neuter my machine? Would the dealer do this even if I tell them no thanks? How could I definitively tell? I figure it's better to ask this crew now, than cry & moan later. Whaddayasay? :dunno:

Center Console for Ford Explorer Police Interceptor

Street1049 that is a sharp ride, well done my friend. My PIU came to my driveway as a second duck hunting rig, if I don't take my 1997 truck or don't need a truck, I can take the Explorer. Rubber floor, pulls a boat, 305HP good for out of state trips to Arkansas and the all wheel drive will...

2016 Explorer PIU tow wire install

Trailer wiring ugh, the only thing worse is trailer wheel bearings. My PIU came with a tow hitch and connector. Just dandy, what could go wrong? No running lights,...........so I started trouble shooting, hooking up different trailers to different vehicles, going berserk. Finally figured out...

Center Console for Ford Explorer Police Interceptor

pdxgeek - yeah that's what I did too. Some large washers to help distribute the load, and four self tapping screws, voila'. Far easier/simpler than any of the other jimcrackery I've read about.

PIU - replace tires individually or in axle pairs/all 4?

That's good and very useful information, thanks for posting this. There is a lot of whacky obsession over this topic. I did have concerns about using the new spare tire, when the other three are always going to be further worn down, when on a long trip away from home. Would traveling the 300+...

    Emergency Braking - Tranny Downshifts?

This weekend I had the pleasure of slamming on the brakes with my new to me 2013 PIU. I've been driving it for a couple of months but had not done this yet. While I'm at speed on the interstate, a fellow that was stopped on the emergency shoulder, decided to pull back on the road right in front...

    Police Interceptor Utility Photo Thread

2013 straight off the trailer. Ex Pennsylvania Highway Patrol, this thing will scoot. Lotta fun, I have already replaced the tired yellowed spotlights. These forums are a real help. You can't beat it for $11,000 delivered to my front door (650 miles). Whoo-hoo!!

Red flags when buying used 2013-14 Police Explorer / Utility

I recently bought a 2013 off of the interwebs, just took a chance and put it in the driveway. From that experience, I can add to make sure that it has a spare tire. Mine was missing, new 18x8 rim and an Eagle RS-A $500. I would also add that you'll want the center console metal "base". Without...

Couldn't Stand It Any Longer - 2013 PIU

The internet is the debil, you're surfing used cars, sipping bourbon, then the next thing you know a Police Interceptor is in the driveway. It's a 2013 former Pennsylvania Highway Patrol vehicle, now residing in Mississippi. Very clean, came with nearly new tires, trailer hitch with wiring and...
