    Waterpump leak.

So, externally the harmonic balancer looks good. But figured I'd replace it anyways. Upon removal of the bolt, I noticed there was a ring loose inside of it. Sounds like it's specific to my 2005 motor (just did a quick search b/c I was curious, could be for all motors). Jeez. Never seen a...

    Waterpump leak.

Waterpump leaking today... Has something to do with the cold weather, just had our first batch of 20's at night. Going to replace the harmonic balancer this time, as the front main is leaking a tiny bit anyways. Would replace with a Motorcraft water pump, but don't have the time to wait for one...

    No Power P0300 Code

I did hook up my scan tool that reads just about everything. I didn't see anything wrong with O2, MAF, TPS, or Temp readings. Problem is, I wasn't driving or in the car at the time. I figured it was a long shot for anyone else having an issue like such. And the issue hasn't occurred since. I did...

    No Power P0300 Code

So, today I was headed home from work and driving through stop/go traffic. While speeding up I had a sudden loss of power, engine RPM's went up, but the car slowed down. No check engine light or anything. I pulled off into a gas station, shut it off and filled it up. The car had over 1/2 tank...

    ISO 5.0L Water Pump Pulley

Ah shoot, forgot I posted on here. I found one, thanks though!

    ISO 5.0L Water Pump Pulley

1995-2001 Ford Explorer/Mercury Mountaineer, 5.0L V8 Looking for a water pump pulley. I've searched to the best of my abilities (not very tech savvy) for a new or used one on google and ebay (united states), but cannot for the life of me find one anywhere. I have come across two factory part...

    Waterpump leak.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's had a problem with pumps. This is a problem concerning two different engine longblocks, so has to be an external or accessory issue. I try a motorcraft (again) next time, only reason I did not this time around is because my other vehicle was loaned out and...

    Waterpump leak.

Forgot to reply to this. I should have filled the pump when I installed it. Next time I'll do that. I did bleed the system really well this time by squeezing the upper radiator hose, which I always do, but I didn't have to top off the coolant after the first start this time, which means I got...

    Waterpump leak.

Well, that Murray water pump lasted the longest. January 13th and it failed... leaking out of the weephole. Thinking of using a different coolant, currently using green, what is the recommended coolant? Maybe the green just isn't compatible with the seal, but you'd think the aftermarket...

    Waterpump leak.

Pressure tested the system today, as expected it was the weep hole. Went to advancedauto and got a refund of my money from their Driveworks water pump. Went to O'reilly's and picked up a Murray water pump, brand new, not refurbed, and a couple of different brands of stop leak... just kidding...

    Waterpump leak.

Hmmm good suggestions for sure. The original motor had 200k miles on it before the timing chain gave out, and had the same waterpump issue as this 100k mile motor does. Only thing I swapped from old to new motor was alternator and a/c compressor, as they were both newer, along with fan hub and...

    Waterpump leak.

It is for sure coming out of the weephole, when I refer to shaft seal leak, I am referring to the water coming out of the weep hole, indicating a shaft seal leak. I am positive in that due to the fact that I have washed it off, and pressure tested it, along with having the engine running, and...

    Waterpump leak.

2003 4.0L, replaced the waterpump about 7 times in the last year, along with a new tensioner, fan hub, and fan blades. And a pressure cap, and fresh coolant each time. Still leaking out of the weep hole, the waterpump shaft seal, tried different brands, motorcraft included. Really pissing me...

    MPG's, Rattle, Clunk Questions.

This one is protecting some wiring and shift linkage on the transmission, 3 inches from the exhaust. I think I'll keep this heat shield haha! Just took an extra large washer over the tab that broke. No big deal. But yes, I've removed a few heat shields on catalytic converters and such on beaters...

    MPG's, Rattle, Clunk Questions.

Jeez, month later and got a bit of time to work on it, finally found the rattle. Was the heat sheild on the driver's side of the transmission. Broken tab. Figured I'd post to let other people know. That's all I got, still no location of the clunk, and mpg is getting somewhat better, probably...

    MPG's, Rattle, Clunk Questions.

2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, 4.0L V6, AWD Recently installed a 101k mile 2004 engine (the explorer had a bad transmission), after the 2003's timing chain gave out at 214k, and have a few questions. 1. The car is getting poor fuel economy, started with the old motor, 14mpg highway, hand...

Power Accessories Won't Turn Off With Car Off?

Driver's seat stopped moving again, adjustable pedals also quit working when this happens. Still unsure what the problem could be. Removed and reinstalled the fuse and works again. This is annoying. Does anyone have any ideas where I should start?

Power Accessories Won't Turn Off With Car Off?

I pulled the ignition switch relay under the hood and reinstalled, it shut the radio off, but after reinstalling the radio turned back on, and seat was still inop. Then I pulled a main fuse under the hood, and everything is working normally. Any ideas?

Power Accessories Won't Turn Off With Car Off?

Also noticed today that key off and doors open the windows still operate. So basically the car is acting like the key is not shut off, although the door ajar and dome lights with doors open do not work either? I'm confused, and could not find anything on a ignition switch, only the lock...

Power Accessories Won't Turn Off With Car Off?

2003 Ford Explorer, 4.0L, with a 2004 Explorer Long Block. Recently got done installing the 2004 engine, ran great for 4 days except for a torn o-ring on an injector, but that was fixed after day 1. Now I have a few electrical gremlins, that I'm wondering if aren't all correlated to one...

    Replaced engine, running rough?

Got back from work with a can of starting fluid, found my leak, forgot about that ccv hose from the valve cover to intake on the driver's side. I even said to myself when removing the intake originally "I'm so going to forget about this hose" lol. Now if only I could find the hose itself.... No...

    Replaced engine, running rough?

2003 Ford Explorer 4.0l flex fuel awd So my 2003 engine timing chains gave out, picked up a 2004 Explorer and swapped the engines. I used the 2003's spark plugs (2004s were bad), intake, injectors, valve covers, exhaust manifold, and harness. The 2004 ran fine, had a bad transmission 100k...

    Timing Chains/Tensioners Part Numbers?

Thank you very much, I knew there would be some posts of such, and hate having to ask, I would assume this question's been asked a million times.

    4.0L Engine Year Compatibility?

Oh, forgot to ask! So the engine is a 2004, and my vehicle is a 2003, are the harmonic balance and flywheel the same, or will I need to swap those over from my 2003 engine onto the 2004 engine?
