Like RJT says above, happens to me all the time when my driving conditions change, even in the middle of a tank. Nothing to worry about.

It’s been running fine, including Sport mode, etc., since my one-time experience. I’ve deliberately kept it to short local trips just in case but uneventful so far. We have a road trip planned at the end of the month and I expect to take the ST. That’s the plan as long as there’s no recurrence...

I guess they figured you’d want that sensitivity when in Sport mode. Just put it in Eco and it’s the exact opposite - very docile.

Mine doesn’t either. No options, including no moonroof. Was ordered that way. Most, but by no means all, local inventory seems to include it.

Agree. First day rental, key service, LED coverage and interest-free financing = easy decision.

Just to be clear, “tune” refers to modifying the engine electronics for fuel, timing, shifts, etc. Not mechanical tuneup like the olden days.

That sounds normal. It seems to me the Explorer is set up to be ultraconservative when it comes to power draws. Don’t know any workaround. The Explorer is certainly not alone and it seems to be a trend. My 2014 Fusion hybrid keeps the power ports active for just a few minutes after shutting...
