If its a heat shield it could be just a loose fastener. Not sure what size bolt but something a basic wrench could take care of. If you have a safe way to get the vehicle jacked up and jack stands under, you can just look at the whole exhaust system and check for any loose pipes (not likely)...

My '01 Sport is in need of new speakers. I dont want anything real high end/expensive. Just something that sounds nice and would be a small upgrade from stock, as 2 of them are blown. So with that said, is there a prefered size/upgrade that will fit directly in stock location? Thanks Aaron

For quite some time now the explorer has had a surging issue at idle. When Im in gear or if the engine is warm, its not an issue. The problem is only when I shift from drive to park with engine warm or cold, or when I shift from park to drive when the engine is cold. I will get about 5 surges...

Figured out the noise. There was a spring about 2.5-3in. long that had fallen off (I assume the parking brake assembly) and was between the dust shield and the rotor. Guess its time to replace the parking brake shoes now.. Aaron

Got them when trying again. But now there is a horrible scraping noise from the left rear, same side that was giving me problems. It took me all of 5 min. to get the right rear off/replaced. Does the parking brake use a pad that pushes against the inside of the rotor? I slid the left rear...

I guess those two bolts come out and then it slides off? I'll have to take another look I guess. Aaron
