so i just finished replacing my rear differential and pinion and i took it for a test drive (first time Ive ever drove it on the road) i bought it with a bad rear end.... but i noticed that when i decelerate theirs a grinding noise coming from the right front.... only when im decelerating...

Wipers move freely when I use my hands and the motor is running.So I am assuming that it is the linkage. How do get to the linkage ? And what parts need to come off ?

ive been seaching around this site trying to find a decent write up on the removal and replacement of a rear differential on a 99 explorer and i cant find one... so anyone got any info on it??? I'm buying a 99 4x4 explorer with 100,000 miles this weekend and it needs a new rear diff. obviously...

I want to do a 302 engine swap into my explorer. I know i am going to need a different transmission. what about transfer case and axles? ive got the xlt 4x4 with manual locking hubs and manual transfer case. I found a guy who has a 302 he has no use for and I can pick up dirt cheap.

:mad: I went to my local specialty lift shop today to ask about a lift for my 2002 4x4 explorer. he told me that noone makes one and he wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole. this cant be true!!! idk if it because he said it was a unibody or not. he said nothing would work. WHAT WILL WORK?!?!?!?!
