My daughter's 1996 4X4 4.0 threw 0303 and 0305 codes. Checking this and that, I came to the ignition module. The book I have says the secondary resistance should be between 9K and 11K. The reading I get for all three coil pairs is more like 15.8 ohms. Still get a spark well over 30KV...

Anybody know what the shorting block is for that comes off the ignition module (EDIS6) in front of the battery? From the wiring diagram, the shorting block connects some function between the ignition module and the PCM. Wondering what symptom might be corrected or evaluated by removing this...
