Hi,
My 2000 Explorer XLT's A/C has always worked great until this past summer. It started blowing slightly cool air, then warm air. I bought a recharge kit with a guage. When I hooked it up it said it was almost full. I filled it the rest of the way and it's stayed full ever since. However, it still blows warm air. When it's on I can hear something click under the hood (like maybe the clutch engaging?) and the engine lugs down a little. This happens, though, constantly. If it's idling and it's in park, I hear the click followed by the sound of a fan kicking on and the engine lugging down just a tiny bit and then it all stops and starts again a few seconds later. This happens over and over and over. I'd like to get this fixed this winter in my garage before the warm weather comes. I know next to nothing about cars, so if anyone can respond with some ideas please dumb it way down so I'll be able to keep up. Thanks!
