01 ranger supercab

Good night/morning i have the 01 ranger super cab 3.0l with the 5 speed 4x2. My question is so its happened where i got off the highway and its hard to shift city driving shifting is fine but it has happened twice where i got off the highway and it was hard to shift any insight to this thanks

Could be the slave cylinder is starting to go out. Is it mainly happening when shifting into first gear?

It did it in all gears it shifted but it was really hard to shift
