I use Eiko superwhite 80/100 bulbs with a high performance wiring harness. I dont know if the X harness will handel the higher wattage or not. For the $35. that a harness cost, www.suvlights.com , why chance it.
Additionaly you will get all the performance out of the bulbs. Stock wiring probably only delivers less than 12 volts to the lights. A high perf. harness puts all the 14 or so volts to the lights making them brighter.
Bulbs can be "true" high wattage and draw 80/100 watts of power or they can "produce" 80/100 watts and draw less power like piaa or some xenon bulbs.
The bulbs that "produce" the higher wattage are not as bright as the "true" high wattage bulbs. A high performance harness is not needed with the bulbs that "produce" 80/100 watts.
Simple question...long answer.
