Is $15,980++ a good deal on a 99 white 4-door XLS 2wd with 31,000 miles? Its really clean in and out, seems to run good and strong.

Dealer won't come down on price. This is their "sale" price.

I am debating, whaddya think? Probably will not buy though. I didn't like the sales guy.

He said he could give me a trade in value if we went inside.
Go inside--"Well, I'd have to see the vehicle to really give you a price."

      Me-"Give me a ballpark."

      Salesguy-"I can't I have to see it."

      Me-"Okay, see ya later."

Check out the Blue Book value at kbb.com . Then go to the Ford Dealer in T.O. I've had much better experiences with them. But I guess it all depends on the salesman. But I know they have a better service dept there than anywhere in V.C.

Don't even bother for that price. Used XLT's at least where I live that are 99's sell for cheaper than that or a little more. Used 02' XLS Explorers are are ready selling for around $18,000 here. If your dead-set on an XLS I would look at a used 02, otherwise keep searching. I can find plenty of XLT'S here loaded with either the sohc or V8 that are 99's going for below $16,000 with most having less miles than 31,000.

i agree with saleenexp, used explorers are everywhere!

they want too much money for the one you mentioned.

you can find an xlt easily for that kind of money, if you can get one with the towing package. engine oil and transmission coolers and limited slip is nice to have.

you can get the best deals at the end of the month.

Exactly, that is way too much for a bare-bones:D Explorer thats a 99' with that many miles. You will easily be able to find a used fully loaded 99' XLT with a V8 for that much or lesser with less miles. Definitley try to find one with the V8, you be much more satisfied with the power and reliability and effortless acceleration. A V8 is very easy to mod, which means even more power and efficiency. So try to find a V8 XLT thats loaded with the towing package (which will include the engine and trans cooler and the Ls which is awsome with a V8). My moms Mounty gets about 16 in the city and 20-22mpg with the cruise on 80, and it's completley stock. You will be able to find an XLT with those options for as much as that XLS or even cheaper. Check this thread out and it will erase and thought of the V8 getting bad mileage, there are more ohv V6 and sohc V6 guys getting the same or a lot worse, and they still don't have the power of the V8, click on this: http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56066

The dealer can pick up a 2000 EB for that price at auction. That is basically 4 years old now, so $12K would be closer to the right price--assuming it is 4x4. As for the mileage, 31k isn't too bad for a '99.

      2001 XLT V8 = 19,500

      Hey MyExpWork,

I picked up my 2001 XLT V8 Loaded (minus leather / moon roof / 'super sound package') with 18K miles on it for $19,500 LAST October.

Keep looking! I found my via ford.com's search - worked great!

Thanks alot everyone. I thought it seemed kind of high.

If I had gone back I would have begun to ask for a L/S rear and tow package and I do want the v-8.

      Thanks again for the advice.:D

If you can stand a 2 door Sport, I've dropped the price on my new bodystyle '01 to $10,995. See the classified section.

I picked up a '00 XLS for $15,500 w/28000 miles a month ago. It seemed like a good price for my area.
      I forgot, it's a 4x4 OHV
