I own a 1991 Explorer 4x4 that eventually want to convert to 302 or maybe one of the many 5.0 variations. My thought patterns are such that I am thinking in particular about the parts that will be different than stock.
As I was looking for a radiator for something else, I came across this and instantly thought about my future Red 4x4 Project:
Original application is 4.0 V-6

The water dimensions measure out to work with the V-8 goose neck and water pump.

Did you know if you hit the shift key when typing 4x4 it comes out $x$ ? Is this a warning?

Okay so the ebay / mexico radiator pictured is a single core (they call it dual row).
Do not get that one!

They make a dual core (three row) just like it.
Yes it will fit a Gen I ranger or explorer (91-94 explorer)

1985-1994 Ford Ranger Aluminum Radiator, 3 Row Champion, 2.8L/2.9L/3.0L/4.0L | eBay

They also make this all aluminum tig welded radiator for 4.0L OHV explorers and rangers of all years

Yes it will cool a 5.0
I have this radiator in my 1988 Bronco II with a 302 and it works just fine.
My truck is a 1988 Bronco II with a 97.5 5.0L, 4r70w automatic, 4x4 with air conditioning on 35" tires. The radiator is tucked under my core support with a custom lower bracket.

Have also used these in 4.0L Rangers and 5.0L Rangers.
Much better then the factory units with plastic side tanks and the price is right at under $200

Thanks for the info !
