..1992 Explorer...when passing on the freeway or just wot to get on the freeway, she bucks / stumbles quite suddenly at almost exactly 4000 rpm....then picks back up as the revs drop just 1-2 x....i can get over 4000 but I have to wot PAST 4000 to avoid the buck....

Fuel pressure was tested fine 4 months ago. New CPS, new ICM 4 months ago, cleaned IAC, many new parts, runs like a champ....except this...

Rebuilt tranny summer 2013....seemed to start right after that but....

I have read, searched and more..

Is there anything in the tranny that could cause this? Maybe the fuel pressures regulator is bad, but the stumble is SO sudden I thought it more electrical.

I know there is a rev limiter, but.....

anything will help, love my old first gen...

Are you able to check your fuel pressure again? Or borrow a tester.

Check the badge, it might be a bronco.

I'd be checking the plug leads and boots and coil for arcing.

Oh, not that it really matters, this is the 2nd gen forum.
