Thanks this was the second try as the first with the home made bracket looked horrible. Now the only question is how will it preform once I get off road hoping it doesn't bounce around to much. ;)

No it's on a saw tooth bracket that grabs the carpet to keep it from sliding. I'm thinking of taking a piece of angle Aluminum and screwing it to the floor then running a bolt through the bracket to hold it.

Update on my Install it works great off road only took it on a few mild runs but doesn't move at all probably because of the radio's weight.

    My 1st Gen almost-installed CB

I say almost because I didn't have to hack up dash or build a console, I run a Cobra 148GTL on a tranny hump mount with a mag mount antenna.

Are there any more pictures of first gen explores with radio's? I think I am going to put mine up where the second Gen has the over head console. My reason to put it up high is because I have the big Cobra radio and a 5 speed X. Any thoughts?

Okay not as fancy as most but since I do not smoke I cut out the dash where the ash tray sits and placed my radio there. It shifts fine. I know my shift knob is not on. I also just installed the manual transfer case and am looking for a stock shift knob at the yards.

Help! Need infor on neat set up for radio, siren, lignt switch units

Looking for members who are experienced with neat mount for my Two Way Radio (Motorola CDM 1250, Siren Control Box, and Light Switches).
I'm hoping I could find someone who did a similar set up in the front part of the console in the area of the "cubby holes"
    Happy Exploring and Hello!
