2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer - Looking at new Sport

Good morning Explorer Enthusiasts,

I am the proud owner of a 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Just a little background on my vehicle:

1. Currently has 154K miles on it.
2. V-8 engine & 4x4.
3. No rust
4. Very little problems over the 12 years of ownership

Before that, I owned a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT with V-6 engine. So I have been driving Explorers for over 19 years.

I am currently looking at the 2015 Explorer Sport. Does anyone have any recommendations that I need to be aware of in doing my research?

Notes:

I tow a fishing boat that weighs approx. 2500 lbs. loaded with fishing gear & supplies.

How does the turbo work with towing such a boat?

I'm concerned about how the vehicle tows my boat considering the switch to a unibody vs. a body on frame suspension that I'm use to owning?

Also, any word from Ford about making the 3rd row seat optional? I had that option with my 2002 and love the extra storage compartments in the cargo floor?

Any info about the turbo and towing capabilities would greatly be appreciated.

The Sport will tow 2500 lbs no problem at all. It is rated at 5000 lbs
