Hello, I have had two Explorers and Two Ford Rangers. I am struggling to install my front struts due to the red adjustment knob on the quicklift not clearing the opening in the lower control arm. I can turn the strut 90 degrees to get the button through, but when I need to move the strut to line up the upper bolts I cannot get it. I currently have the upper ball joint off, and the lower arm dropped as far as I can.

This is my intro post, and I really need help with the strut install.

Ok so I don’t know if you figured this out or not yet. Your putting that through way too far. Your job won’t touch once you bolt through that hole.

If you can’t get it to line up to that hole. May have to disconnect your upper control arm?

I am having a problem that I can get my upper bolts to line up but it’s off on the lower control arm how can I spin it to get the bolt through at the bottom???

Pro tip is to temporarily loosen the nuts for the upper control arm bushings so they move easily. I actually had to remove mine. I had to press down on the lower control arm to even get the top three bolts of the strut in.

The bushings only allow so much flex unless they are loosened. I also removed the control knob and added grease prior to the install.
