Just wanted to bump this if anybody is still pushing an Explorer from early 2000s
I searched everywhere for a fix. I tried the inertial switch and nothing. Almost gave up until this thread... Order the IAC valve off Amazon. Make sure to grab a gasket with it. Replace them both. Make sure there's no **** in your hose connected to the IAC valve. Replace and drive. I can drive peacefully now. Thanks a **** ton for all of this info.
