Battery light came on a couple of days ago. Would go off when coasting. Tested with my battery charger, said ALT OK w/o lights on, with lights on said BAD, so I just replaced it.
Changed the alternator, now the light is on constantly. Had the parts store check core and it said good. Checked battery and new alternator both tests say good. Volt meter says 13.8 at the battery when on.
Fusible links are fine, no blown fuses. Anyone have the same problem and get it fixed?
Checked alt wires all the way to PCM check out fine, haven't tried tracking wires from PCM to guage, I'd rather not jump into that mess.
FIXED: I think. O'Reilly's seems to have sold a defective alternator. Stator feedback terminal spade was plastic. Hoping to swap it out Thursday, which should solve the problem.
