2006 Mercury Mountaineer Rear DVD Unit

I have a brand new 2006 Merc Mountaineer. I just noticed that my rear DVD unit will only play in black & white, it won't play in color. Is there some type of setting that needs to be done in the set-up menu? I tried the set-up menu, but I couldn't find anything about color. I think that something may be wrong with the unit . Any comments appreciated. Thanks

I have the rear DVD in my explorer and this should be the same unit. It played in color for us right away. We did not have to make any adjustments to it. I think you better take it in to the dealer and have them check it out.

are you using a real copy of a DVD or something you burned?

Real copy DVD. I tried a few. I did plug in a video game and it appeared in color. Very strange

Hi, is there an NTSC or PAL setting on your dvd player. IF so I think it should be set to NTSC. Maybe this will help

If there is a setting for PAL or NTSC, I can't seem to find it in the menu.
