2007 V6 towing

i have a v6 explorer that has the class 2 towing pkg which is rated for 3500 lbs. there is also a class 3 pkg that is rated for 5500 lbs. is the transmission different in these two, or is there something i could do such as adding a transmision cooler etc to get mine bumped up to the the class 3? thank you for your help.

the package adds a 3.73 axle ratio instead of 3.55, and the hitch goes from 1 1/4 inch opening to 2 inch. Not sure if it adds a cooler on 2007.
