2007 XLT Custom Audio

    While home from Korea on leave, I purchased a 2007 blue Exploder with only 68k miles. This will serve as my build log when I eventually get around to it. Wont be for several months. Plans right now is to use all the gear I have on hand.

    Got the Kenwood Excelon DDX594 installed today. I hand carried it back with me on the plane from Korea. Still need to install the backup camera.

    Looks sweet! I did a DNX573 a few months back. Love it, only thing that has been tricky is tuning the X'over settings to work well with the stock speakers. With your new speakers you'll have some tuning to do too I'm sure.

    Not familiar with that unit but Kenwood makes some nice gear. As for tuning, the ms8 that I will be using is a digital sound processor. All my tuning will be done with that.

    Your DDX is in the same Kenwood family, the DNX is just with built in nav. Looks pretty much identical from the outside, I'm sure the inside is different

    still nothing pretty to look at. This build is kicking my ass with minor details. Im feeling pretty defeated but still trucking along.

    Pretty happy with how the center speaker turned out. Waiting on my vinyl to show up before I can wrap it. Also need to find a paint for the grill and trim ring that matches better.

    Worked all day on the wiring and it isnt even that fantastic to look at. At least I have sound again.

    well sad news. The PPI amp has some dead outputs, so it will be replaced with an Arc Audio XDi 840
