2018 gas door?

Is the 2018 XLT gas door supposed to have a lock,or is that on a higher trim pkg ?

It does not lock, but you can purchase a Ford locking gas cap if you desire.

I initially had the same concern. The cap itself does not lock, but where you insert the fuel pump nozzle, it does lock. More specifically, if you try to use a regular funnel for fuel cleaner or any other gas treatment, etc., it will not open, you have to use the special nozzle that is clear/white in color attached to the spare tire kit.

Ford's Easy Fill Capless Fuel System has been around since 2008. The vehicles with it do not require a lock but a lock can be purchased from the Ford Accessories store.
For some reason it doesn't show for the 2018 model year. Not sure if they made a change or not. Locking Fuel Plug | The Official Site for Ford Accessories
