Heres my little setup, I didn't want the cb in my way anywhere, So I drilled into the ashtray and for the farthest right bolt after I drilled through I took the ash tray out and made the dash hole bigger so my ash tray would be free to move since I use it as storage for small things and the power point pulls open with out without the ash tray open. I routed the power wire above the steering wheel through bracket and some wires then down through under the steering wheel shaft boot and into the engine bay free from any rubbing or extreme heat.

Glad I don't have the full length console in this one :)

Ran into a little snag, I had a post style mount, and then just got a center console, now I have to re-wire the whole thing up. I will giter done this evening. Sorry for the delay, just been really busy. Should be a bangin' install when I finish. Can you say DVR with Camera? he he he...

Here's another setup, not everyones thing but I had a small cobra before and didn't like the quality of the small ones so I mounted a bigger Uniden on the side of the console.

I don't like the position of the radio. Gets in the way of my knee. Try cuttin a slot in the center console to fit it.

I had a small one in my 95 explorer I cut out the center console for its in this thread but I don't like the quality of the small ones and this seemed like best position I tested it a couple times to make sure it wouldn't be in the way of my knee and it was comfortable to I settled with that spot.

I did mine in the center console too. had to do some dremeling to get it to fit.

First had to remove my CD changer since I have and aftermarket headunit and it doesnt work anymore anyways:
Then take out the plastic liner thing.
And cut off these little tab things:
Splice the power wire into the auxiliary power outlet on the passenger side:
And then slide the radio in and trim on the kleenex holder slot thingy as needed:
Trim a little out to clear the cord for the microphone as well:
And as for the antenna, it sits on the drivers side right below the widshield (and yes, the coax is hidden behind the fender and ran through the door jamb)

    Need some ideas!

I've got the big console with the mpg computer below, the console with the temp up top and a working (Im not removing it) 6 disk in the center console.

Anyone have any install ideas that wont be tacky/trashy/in my way?

The radio is a Cobra 29 LX mounted next to the gizmo area in front of the center console with an Astatic d104-m6b microphone. I plan to put an external speaker somewhere, not decided where as of yet.

Wilson 5000 antenna mounted in the middle back area of the roof.
