302, 351, 429?

Does anyone know how big of a block you can fit into the 91-94 chasis? Also, what type of transmission would you have to run? I'm completely new to the explorer, but I'm hopefully getting a lot of help from my friend who is a big mustang guy. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the time.

302 will fit... anything bigger probably not..use the search function and see the projects others have done

351W has been done before in a first gen. (91-94). anything bigger than that will need MUCHO custom fab. tranny could be a C4, C6, AOD, AODE, 4R70W for a small block and pretty much nothing but a C6 for the big blocks.

Given enough time and money anything will fit. It all depends on how much of both you want to spend.
