I have a 02 that will not go into 4wd. All the lights work and the transfercase does shift into 4wd low. I do hear the modual behind the glove box click when I shift into low and back into 4wd high. The problem is the front wheels are not getting power. The driveshaft is turning but only the back wheels spin No strange noises just the normal click when I press the switch. I have tried it in reverse with the same result. Please help if you can... Craig

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

I had the same/similar issues as you. It turned out to be a bad ground wire on the transfer case shift motor. Worth a look.

There are also 2 transfer case sensors also: I think they are:

1L2Z-7F293-AA
1L2Z-7F293-BA

i have seen these wires get corroded which will cause problems also.

Transfer case

I went to the Ford dealer and they said the clutch was worn. I should replace the entire unit. Does anyone know of a good rebuilder?

Look a a local 4x4 shop, I would think they would be able to do it.
