Im beginning the process of doing a 4406 swap in my 2000 5.0. My front CV driveshaft it making noise and gas isn’t cheap so I misewell swap the transfer case out. I already know I need a rear driveshaft from a 5.4 Navi/Expedition and front DS from a 4.6 f150. Before I get flame threaded I’ve already done my research and for what I need help with I cannot find info or if I do. The pics are outdated so I have no visual reference.

What is this 1310/1330 U-Joint conversion everyone is talking about in their write ups? Im a little confused. Do I have to add an H U-Joint bracket on the front or rear drive shaft or what?

Again I’ve already used the search bar and can’t find the information I’m looking for. Thank you.

The conversion joint simply is 1310 on one plane and 1330 size on the other.

Does it go on the front or rear drive shaft? I assume it’s for attaching the f150 driveshaft to the EX differential yolk?

Or, you can change the flange on the front diff to a 1330 flange.

The 4.6 front driveshaft USUALLY fits, sometimes it is about 1/2" too long. If this is the case don't fret you can take the d shaft apart at the slip yoke and remove about 3/4" of material from each side, this will shorten the shaft just enough to fit between the 4406 t case and your front diff. The front diff is where the U conversion U joint gets installed.
The 1310 and 1330 lingo is old school it seems not many auto parts stores have any idea what the heck you are talking about when you say 1310 or 1330 anymore so its best to be armed with actual part numbers
