5.0 tranny problems

Basically i was wondering what transmissions are easily interchangeable with in Fords vehichle line up,I have a 1999 5.0 2wd AUTO,so,would the 4.0 tranny work with the 5.0 or would the f150 have the same drive train and possibly and could i use a mustang tranny,I am looking on craigslist trying to find a used one because im pretty much broke these days:roll:

the 5.0 is 4R70W you must use a 2wd trans since the 4x4 trans has a shorter tail shaft
not sure about using 1 out of f150 or mustang I was lucky when I was looking and found a good trans for $350 and installed it myself

You might try calling a wrecking yard and asking them, they have some very good interchange books. While you have them on the phone ask about the price. (you pull it lots are cheap if you can do the removal)
