im helping my friend get his beetle to run. its a 69. hes replaced some of the relays and the battery. also the car has a kill switch.

so far i can only think maybe the starter is disconnected, broken, or the coil, fuel something is not working. maybe the kill switch istn working.

what else should i check. it seems like the instruments get power.

...Best way to check the electrical is with a meter...I would quickly suspect the kill switch from what little info you posted...:dunno:

...Does it crank? Are you getting fuel to the carb? Pull the rear seat up and check the battery and cables...IIRC, that year still runs the reverse polarity so make sure the battery is connected properly and check the points gap...

...These might be of some help...

ill check i just gave it a glance the other day. no crank at all. not even a relay click i could hear. my best guess is the wiring is bad somewhere. allegedly he replaced the battery, and relays. but nothing works. ill have to get into the engine later and do a check
