'93 sport no tail lights

Well, ever since i bought my explorer that it seems i run into issues. I already fixed the 4x4, replaced the headlight switch( some one put the wrong bulb in the head light and fried the switch), and pretty much anything else that could go wrong did. I can't figure out this one.

My tail lights wont work. My brake lights work. the liscence plate lights dont works. I checked all the fuses and one was blown but that was because my dash lights dont turn off so i had to rig it with a switch to turn off manually, but something must of went wrong. I dunno if thats the case or not. I am stumped at the moment and wondering if a connnection is bad or some fuse i should check again?

Ck the headlight switch and wiring. Usually the wiring melts and gives you those symptoms.

definitely look at the headlight switch. and the connector that plugs into it.
