Finally after doing years of frustrating research to find a substitute for the Kevlar Pads on the torsion keys for 95-97 Explorers I found the fix. Bought a Kevlar kit to repair military helmets from a supplier on E-bay. I then made a rectangle box out of 1/4" think sheet metal then welded it to the frame above the torsion bar keys. I then installed the 1" thick x 3" wide x 4" long sheet of kevlar inside the box then re-installed the key and torsion bar. Took it for a ride and all I can say is what a world of difference this made. No more banging or clunking over bumps. Feels like a new truck again.
