97' Ford Explorer

Ok, I'm new to this whole mudding. My friend has been taking me alot and i just cant seem to get away from it. So i have a 97' Ford Explorer stock, can anyone help me what i should do first as lift and tires or other engine mods first.

If you're gonna offroad I would start with lift and tires.....

Mudding = you need mud terrain tires

Also check out the sticky threads - especially "lifting your explorer to clear larger tires"
