Ive noticed that recently my revs in first gear have been much higher than normal. I was making a turn and accelerated and the rpm was past the 40 mph mark on my speedometer . Since i was turning and wasnt accelerating the needles accually crossed. Its been doing it every time i accelerate but now when i see it getting close to the 6 i take my foot off the pedal and it will ushually shift into second. Anyone know what some possible causes are? I have a superchip installed that i have been running for a few years with no other related problems. The wierd thing is since it isnt shifting the revs get really high even when im not really on the gas hard just normal acceleration. It just keeps climbing because it isnt shifting. Thanks and hopefully i can do something about this ASAP.

okay so you are asaying it doesnt shift into 2 like it used to? Its hitting red line before it shifts?

I suspect the computer (superchip) but would first check the trans fluid level and condition. Might be time to do a filter and fluid change.

Pretty much you have it. It seems like if i decided to keep my foot on the gas it would just not shift. Ill have to go check the fluid. As far as i know i dont think that has been changed and i have about 90k miles. They may have changed it about 50k but ill have to look that up too. Thanks, Major

I checked the fluid and it looked full, clean and red so i thought that was good. I decided to try taking out the chip and that stopped the high revs. It liiks like some of the pins are a little too high so i think they may have not been making good contact. 410 Fortune you were right on. Thanks for the ideas and fix. Major

Sweetness. Clean those contacts and make sure its seated.
have you considered an upgrade to a far superior product? Like the programmer Baumachips sells? OBD-II gives you alot more options then jsut a chip can handle.
