!99 Ford Expolorer Sport

When I first start my explorer it will crank right over.But the next time I start it I have to floor the gas pedal.After it runs for about 5 minutes it will stop running on its own and I have to floor it and keep gas on it to keep it running.Any ideas on what might be the problem???

Scan for trouble codes, check engine light or not. If any, write the number(s) down. Most larger parts stores do it for free, call around.
