Good evening,
I am replacing a compressor, orifice tube, and accumulator for the first time on a 2007 Ford Explorer Limited 4.0L V6. I ordered the parts from Napa and verified that I have the correct parts. My problem is that when I try reconnecting the a/c lines to the accumulator, they are not sitting/fastening flush with the top of the accumulator. There is a small gap left and I cannot tighten the nuts any further. Perhaps I am putting the green o-rings and black slimline washers on incorrectly? Anyone else done this and had a similar issue? Thanks.

This is the line coming from the compressor? If so, you connect the line to the compressor (outside of the engine bay,) feed the line down under the engine, connect the line to the accumulator, then mount the compressor to the engine.

It'll be tough mounting the compressor.

What did you end up doing?
