So I'm also looking to do some exterior add-ons for my 1997 Ford Explorer Sport as well. Heres my question, I'm looking for cheaper but not low grade equipment so help me out by telling me what to get specifically(name brand, type, etc.) from this list of ideas:
Safari Roof Rack with light rack and spare tire holder
Lights and installation items for lights
Mud terrain tires that are road worthy
    18" 5 lug rims
    Front bumper
    Grill Guard
    6" to 8" lift kit
    Skid plates
Again thanks for reading and maybe helping a brother out. My explorer is eventually gonna do what a jeep can with climbing yet what a truck can with mudding.

I've had my eye on a Curt roof rack on Amazon for just over $100. I know Curt makes good products and that's a great price.

I got my 4 17x8 Pro Comp wheels with center caps for $450. Good deal, I think. Set on 18s?

Got my grill guard on eBay for $145 new but off a showroom floor as a display. Luck is nice sometimes.

Skid plates will probably best be found cheapest at a junk yard.

Better add a solid axle into the plans.
