Sucks dude. Looks like the truck is only cosmetic damage though. Also looks like the "crumple zones" on the BMW worked pretty well.

well the rear left leaf spring is bent, the car was up on the curb.. he was driving fast enough to push the car a whole car length forward.

all but maybe one side is gone (but they are 5 piece beds, so all thats needed is 3 maybe 4 pieces)

running board on the right is gone, FR rim is gone, who knows what other damage there is that is under the body

If nothing else, and at the simplest level, there's hope that with a BMW they also have sufficient insurance to cover this stupidity.

Also, in the second to last photo, is someone performing a citizens arrest? It looks like the guy is getting cuffed, but by another normal joe.

The Kid will be back on the street in 48 hrs, in maybe 60 days he will be in court and will be sent to Elmwood for 90days soft time, Picking up garbage on the highway.
Next summer he will most likely do the same sort of shit again, hopfully nobody will get killed, if so he will do some hardtime.
saleen, hope your dad and the girl have uninsured moterest insurance, good luck man

IMO, this is an EXCELLENT example of how far "crumple zone" technology has come in modern cars (especially with high end makers like BMW). You can see, in the F150 pic, that the impact point was one small area. It just happened to hit the F150 directly at the end of the frame rail, which is designed to buckle only under extreme situations. So, in this case, the frame rail stayed solid and forced most of the energy back into the BMW. The beauty of the impact is in the BMW. You can tell by both the Bimmer and the F150, that the impact to the BMW was only on the passenger side, YET the damage was spread throughout the ENTIRE front end of the car. This sucks for vehicle repair costs, but is great for occupant safety! In scenarios like this, vehicle damage isn't a high concern, keeping occupants alive is. If the F150 had been occupied, that driver would have received a MUCH larger impact force than the driver of the BMW simply because the BMW "absorbed" so much force, while the F150 just transferred it.

Good Luck with everything else that becomes of this Saleen! Hopefully the drunk a-hole in the Bimmer has the ability to bring that nice looking truck back to pre-crash condition.

i dont think the truck will ever be the same... this is like my dads second truck in one year (or so)... the last one was a Ranger and it had rear end damage on it too... the person was going really fast and plowed in to the back of him (he was at a dead stop). the truck was never the same... and now with this one, having more damage it probably wont be the same either...

That is SO F'ed up !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read about that shi* all the time out here. The blood alcohol legal limit keeps getting lower and lower if I am not mistaken it is .04 in Maryland, which is barely one beer. People get busted left and right for this and much higher levels, but those F'ing juges keep smacking their fingers saying " bad boy, no, no ! " and giving them their keys back.

It is time our judicial system started PUNISHING these SOB's that take peoples lives and drink them away.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR DRUNK DRIVING !!!!! :fire:
