I just received an email from the brother of my buddy 1st Lt. Colin Cremin of the 1st Armored Division. His CO is in deep shit right now for killing a critically wounded Shiite cleric on the battle field, hours away from proper medical care . Apparently they fired upon a vehicle while on patrol with 2 persons inside. Upon inspecting the occupants they saw that one of the men (Muqtada al-Sadr) had half of his skull blown off and his brains hanging out of his head, the man was in agony. Capt. Maynulet (a 29 year old man from Chicago) pulled his side arm and killed al-Sadr with a single shot to the head. He is being court-martialed for his actions, apparently the whole incident was caught via satellite.

If i were in the same shape as said cleric, i would beg for anyone to do the same to me (if able) as horrible as it may sound.

Signed. Shows nobody should show compassion and just let them suffer until they die, which people will now have to do. Crazy that they caught it all on tape.

signed. Well this is where the liberal media has taken us. It's getting to where soldiers are afraid to do their job for fear of going to jail. If I shot this guy am I going to jail? is not what someone should be thinking about during a war. If Kerry had gotten elected it would be even worse. I cannot think of one enemy we've fought who had treated POW's humanely. Let look at history, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq. Which of these countries has followed the Genevea Convention? Answer: None However we get stuck with it and then get prosecuted for killing the enemy in a war zone. This is a war, and I thought the purpose of a war was to win by all means necessary. I mean who else would go over there and be as humane as we have? Not only that but we don't even bring alcohol with us as it might offend them. I'll tell ya what, there's nothing like going a yr without a beer for fear of offending someone you're trying to kill  All I have to say is when they come over and start killing all these liberals who are portraying the military as evil, I'll let em take em.

Signed it.. and it isn't just liberal media. Just because it isn't on Rush or Liddy doesn't make it wrong or liberal, FYI.

as a vet, I was taught in bootcamp (1965) the Geneva convention laws are the law.
Right or wrong, the G.I broke the law, right or wrong, I would have done the same, only where no one could see the deed, thats were the G.I screwed up.

only problem is with all these manless drones flying around, you never know when someone's watching you. The Genevea convention needs to be tossed. We signed a bunch of rules of war with our ALLIES, no wonder they signed it. We were all buddy, buddy. Tell me who we've fought who's followed it.

agreed, if your going to win a war, than win the frigging war, use whatever it takes.
The GC for grins states that only full copper jackets be used on small arms ammo, the reason being that it is best to only wound an enemy and not kill said enemy outright, thus it will take two of the enemys comrads to care for the wounded,LOL, imagine the iraq soldiers careing for one and other.
I spent countless hours with a file removing the tips of 50 cal. browning ammo , you get hit anywhere and you be DOA
